France has been invaded over the centuries and occupied, now they are capitulating from within lest they "offend" someone.

If you deny the assertion I made in my first post on this subject, read this link first:

    Gary,
I have never claimed to be the sharpest knife in the block.

But an ULTRA far right group set up a soup kitchen designed to discriminate!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean, is that not kinda offensive.

That isn't the point. Maybe it was done deliberately to "offend". But the fact that the government is stepping in to shut them down simply to avoid "civil unrest" is the real issue. Where does it stop? At what point does the need to "not offend" lest civil unrest results, limit national identity? If they don't eat pork, go somewhere else for their handout. France has not been traditionally muslim, yet they are being forced to change their traditional food to avoid offending the muslim population. That is craven in the extreme.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">surely its the goverments job to prevent civil unrest.
The group in question deliberatly went out to cause offense, and quite probably inflame an already hostile situation.
I agree if the ethnic population is trying to change the nations diet then step should be taken, But its Francethe most food savy nation on earth, they will never change eating habits.
I really think you are barking up the wrong tree here.
If it happened in the UK and probably the Usa there would probably be a incitement case too answer, Its just blatent Uber right wing provocation.

You ever hear those stories about people who were lost in the woods and ate insects and tree bark to survive?
Well, if hungry enough, you'll change your eating habits.
I would hope that no-one would purposely discriminate against a certain group of people, especially in a charity sense, but again, if you are hungry enough you'll change your eating habits.

Would a vegan starve rather than eat meat if it was the only food available for survival? Probably not.

I dont think God would damn you for eating some pork if you were starving.

Survival instincts would have to reign over any religious teachings in a temporary situation like that.

Even Lhaj Thanmi Breze, president of the Union of Islamic Organisations in France, disagreed with closing the soup kitchens, although he regretted that they were serving pork.
